Mr. Hale is a graduate of the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. While earning degrees in violin and music education, Mr. Hale also studied conducting with Dr. Harlan Parker. In addition to his duties with the Annapolis Chorale, Mr. Hale is also the Music Director of the Prince George's Choral Society, Orchestra Director for Oakland Mills HS in Columbia, Music Director of Church of the Redeemer in Bowie, MD, and Assistant Conductor of Baltimore's Young Vic Theatre Company. Mr. Hale is an active clinician and guest conductor in the area, as well as a former adjunct faculty member of the Peabody Conservatory of Music. He lives in Baltimore with his beautiful wife, Katie, and sons, Benjamin and Jacob.

Soprano Laurie Hays has performed with the Carmel Bach Festival, Monterey County Symphony, San Diego Symphony and Master Chorale and the Oahu Choral Society (Honolulu). An accomplished singer and pianist, Ms. Hays holds a degree in Music Education from Wittenberg University. Recent operatic roles include the Mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors, Edith in Pirates of Penzance and Ida/Sally in Die Fledermaus and audiences have seen in her in numerous musical theater productions including Pippin (Fastrada), Carousel (Nettie), The Music Man (Mrs. Paroo), Camelot (Nimue), The Secret Garden (Rose), Fiddler on the Roof (Tzeitl) and Sweeney Todd (Quintet). Ms. Hays' performances in oratorio include the Mozart Requiem, Bach's Magnificat and St. Matthew and St. John Passions, Schubert's Mass in G, Vivaldi's Gloria, the Pergolesi Stabat Mater, Handel's Messiah, and the Faure Requiem. Ms. Hays directs the Annapolis Youth Chorus, is the Upper School choral director at Severn School in Severna Park and is a soloist at St. Anne's Episcopal Church in Annapolis.
